We provide a totally free service for anyone who would like to have their items of value marked. This can
act as a deterrent for would-be thieves, and if items are subsequently stolen they can be traced back to the
rightful owners if we recover them.
Tack marking is usually carried out on saddles, but we can also stamp bridles. Leather items usually show
the best results, man made not so good. We stamp a serial number on the leather (usually on the lower panel),
which we then keep recorded. We can also provide a poster for you to display, advertising that tack is security marked.
Bikes and tools can be stamped with your house number and post code, into a metal surface. On a push bike we
usually stamp on the flat crank shaft casing, on tools we would stamp on the flattest surface possible. A
sticker is provided that you can place on a visible part of the bike if you wish. A poster can then be
displayed outside the area where your tools or bike are kept, advertising that the items have been security marked.
It can be a good idea if you can get together with other owners of horses, so we can stamp a quantity of tack at
the same time – perhaps at a local stables. This also applies to bikes and tools – if you know of other businesses,
DIY enthusiasts or push bike owners that can be security stamped in one go, that would be appreciated.
