In 1972 the school celebrated its centenary. There were events organised to mark this
anniversary. The program of events is shown here plus the full service program held in the Church. Also included
is a newspaper cutting from the Sussex Express and County Herald about the centenary.
Hazel Craven wrote a booklet which outlined the history of the school. Inside there were pictures of the old school that
was originally in Iford and the modern school in Kingston as it was then at the time of the centenary in 1972.
Later that year in December, the children, with Peggy Nicholson's musical help,
put on a play called 'King John and the Abbot'. We have a newspaper cutting from the Sussex Express and County Herald.
In 1982 Ruth Chandler organised a Pow Wow. Here are a couple of shots of that Pow Wow.
Next off is a sequence of photographs which were taken during the school's summer camp
in 1984.
Here is a selection of photographs from various goings on with the school over the years:
John Webber as an old bag lady at a 1970s school Christmas Wassail. In 1979 the school were being taught dancing.
The all conquering school netball team from 1981 are pictured here.
One or two other pictures from 1981 are here showing Miss Chandler on her leaving day and the Christmas play 'William
the Conqueror'.
A lovely photograph of Mrs Steel's class of 1982. This photo actually includes two school years.
Also included here are pictures from the 1982 sports day plus the famous Fairy Queen from the Wassail at Christmas 1982
(I wonder who that could be!).
Finally we have some rather fierce chaps performing in the 1983 play.
